Matthew Carnicelli is a literary agent at Trident Media Group, the premier literary agency located in New York City. He represents a wide assortment of authors writing on a broad range of subjects. His main areas of focus are topical and narrative nonfiction, including current events, history, biography, memoir, science, business, health, psychology, and popular culture. He also represents authors writing commercial and accessible literary fiction, but he does not represent poetry, plays, screenplays, or books for children or young adults.
Matthew Carnicelli's goal is to discover important new voices that have something unique and important to contribute to our world, be they experts in their fields or simply great storytellers. Relying on his experience as a hands-on editor, Carnicelli is involved with an author's work every step of the way, from refining and clarifying an idea and developing a strong book proposal, to selling the project to the right publisher, developing the actual manuscript, and monitoring the book's progress after publication.
